"Compose a Card" Challenge

I finally got my card done for this week's challenge. I actually did two since everything was out. I just changed a few details so they are slightly different. Here are the challenge details for this week:

I love these colors and love all things polka dot so this was a really fun one to work with!! Thanks again Becky! Here are the two cards I came up with....

Both are pretty simple.....that seems to be my norm. I have been waiting for Everyday Button Bits to be in stock for weeks now so I was very excited to see it last weekend. It arrived Friday and I could not wait to ink it up...love those cherries!

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Becky's "Compose a Card" challenge 4

I am so glad I was able to get another card done this week for Becky's challenge. It is great to be storing up a variety of cards for future use! Here are the details for this week's card:

I REALLY loved  this color combo and pretty much stayed true to her design.  I did not have a negative stamp (guess I need to fix that!) so I just stamped on black cardstock with Fresh Snow ink. I made the flower following Dawn McVey's tutorial here. I used regular printer paper, stamped it with Text Style II and then went over the pieces with Smokey Shadow ink. I also used some Ripe Avocado ribbon to make leaves.

Thanks so much for looking!

More challenge cards

Papertrey Ink is continuing with their third anniversary celebration this week and WOW...the new products are awesome!! There have been lots of challenges posted and I am very far behind so..... I took some time today to do a few cards and fulfill a few challenge requirements. Better late than never right?!?

First, I combined 2 challenges in one card....the Emboss Resist challenge from here and the favorite color palette challenge from here. I used Erin's colors and I just love them together!

Here is what I came up with...(all supplies from PTI)

The image (PTI, Through the Trees) was embossed with clear embossing powder on Snow White cardstock (PTI). I then used a Distress ink pad (Tim Holtz) and a paper towel to apply the ink over the embossed image. Too fun!!

The next card was in response to the Paint by number challenge here. I used this color palette because my user name on the PTI forum starts with "B".

And here is the sketch we were given...

I played around with this one for a LONG time.....I just kept rearranging where I wanted each color. I wasn't at all sure I was ever going to be able to make them all work together. BUT, I think it turned out to be my favorite of the day! Again, all supplies from Papertrey except the Prima flower...

And last but not least, I did Becky Oehler's Challenge number 3 for this week (I still have to do last week's yet!). I think this one still needs a little "somethin, somethin" but am not sure what.......I am open to suggestions! All supplies by PTI.....

And on a side note....everyone should try the challenges on Becky's blog. She posts them every Tuesday along with a video and instructions. They are so easy to do! I have always considered myself "card challenged" so image how thrilled I was when Becky chose my card from Week 1 as one of her top three! Thanks again Becky!!

Well, hopefully you made it to the end of this long post. I have two more challenge cards to do before I am caught up. Perhaps I can do them tonight while we watch American Idol.

Thanks for stopping by...

Papertrey Ink Anniversary Celebration

It is day two of the Papertrey Ink third anniversary celebration! Today Nichole challenged everyone to make a birthday card using a digital image designed by one of the 2010 stamp design team. It was a hard decision but I chose to use Heather Nichol's image because I just love cupcakes. Here is what I came up with....

The blues actually do match IRL...I have such bad lighting in my scraproom .
